Hatha Yoga Teacher Training and Self-Study \ Program\Level I – 200 hour
A unique, Yoga Alliance approved, 15 – weekend session intensive
created for exploring Yoga on and off the mat. Facilitated by Anna
Pittman
The Yoga Alliance has created new standards for 200 hour training that
require increased contact hour time during the course of the program.
This program meets those minimum standards by meeting for a total of
180 contact hours during those 15 sessions. Please note that any time
missed during the course of this program must be made up in order to
meet these minimum requirements.
Topics covered throughout the program include:
*Fundamental philosophical aspects and their life application.
*Asana with a focus on exploration, alignment and modification.
*Developing breath awareness as a preparation for Meditation.
*Emotional integration.
*Ethics.
*Teaching and Communication skills
*Mantra and Mudra
*The subtle energy system, chakras and consciousness
*Understanding the body/mind connection
*Anatomy
*Techniques training and practice
Students will receive two manuals for organizing monthly materials.
Four books are required for homework participation and are listed on
the application form.
Cost: There is a non-refundable deposit fee of $50..00 upon application
to the program. The fee for each two - day session is $125.00
Times: Saturday 9:00 a.m – 6:00 p.m.; Sunday 9:00 – 1:00.
Dates: The first weekend session will be in either October or November
of 2006. Each session will be offered 5 weeks apart; every session
being mandatory for participation with the expectation of receiving a
certificate.
Location: Bella Yoga of Ghent in Norfolk, VA
As facilitator of this program, Anna is comfortable awarding
certificates to those who fulfill the following requirements:
* Complete monthly homework
* Finish written essay
* Participated in teaching requirements both in and out of class time
* Fulfill financial requirements.
This program is designed to serve students who want to learn the art of
teaching and communicating yoga. It is also set up to serve those
interested in the self-study aspect of the program so to deepen their
personal practice.
Anna Pittman is certified as a 500-hour advanced teacher of Hatha Yoga.
She incorporates her studies in Breathwork, Meditation, Yoga Therapy
and bodywork in her group sessions. She offers 200 and 500 hour
programs in both Blacksburgand Norfolk, VA.
